Building Futures Update – May 10, 2017

We are getting closer and closer to moving back to Charles Gardner Lane! Wallboard is in place, plumbing nearly complete, paint being applied and basketball hoops being installed; it is a very exciting time to be involved with the James L. McKeown Boys & Girls Club of Woburn. Exterior finishes are being applied and soon the landscaping and site work will begin as well. We anticipate opening for our kids and teens after Labor Day with increased program offerings and a more diverse array of activities.

100% of this project has been privately funded through the dedication and commitment of amazing donors and volunteers. If you have not yet given to our Building Futures Campaign, please consider getting involved today. No donation is too small to make a difference for our Club kids.

At the main entrance to the Clubhouse, storefront glass has been installed.

In the gymnasium, the mechanical equipment is being installed including the basketball hoops and divider curtain. Final paint, emergency lights and duct work are all complete.

In the locker rooms, ceramic tile on both the floors and the walls is being installed. The lockers themselves are on site anxiously await their installation.

Upstairs, wallboard is complete and windows are being hung. This view is from the back of the building looking down the hall way toward the art & science workshops (on the right) and library spaces (on the left).

New windows in the renovated swimming pool really brighten up the room. A first coat of paint has also been applied and the tile lane markers are installed along the bottom.
